Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to the first newsletter of the 2024/25 school year! At Pobalscoil, we’re proud to be a busy, vibrant, and forward-thinking school, and this newsletter gives you a glimpse into the energy and activity that fills our school every day.

This year is already packed with a range of activities that make our school a lively and active and a place to learn and grow. From sports and guest speakers to wellbeing programs, sustainability projects, and academic tasters and so much more, there’s always something happening. Every day, students and staff alike engage in opportunities that build connections, help develop the whole person and allow students to grow in a safe environment.

To give you a snapshot, this year we are home to 615 students, supported by a dedicated team of 54 teachers, 7 SNAs, 2 secretaries, 2 caretakers, a librarian, and 3 cleaners. It’s a full house, but this busy and lively environment contributes to a unique and positive school spirit.

I’d also like to extend special congratulations to our Leaving Cert and LCA Class of 2024 on their impressive exam results—well done! Additionally, I want to acknowledge the achievements of our Junior Cycle class on their successes.

Finally, November is the time when we stop and remember the loved ones who are not with us anymore, these events are of huge significance to us personally and as a school community and we will be marking the occasion towards the end of this month
