Welcome to our Library page! Our Library, Leabharlann Inbhear Scéine, is at the heart of the school, in every sense. Our mission is to make our school library as good as it can be and we are dedicated to keeping our library stock up to date. We strive to stock books which our students will want to read and are focused on cultivating an interest in books and reading as part of the ongoing school literacy programme.

Our library is an integral part of our school community and Eileen, our Librarian, provides a nice welcoming atmosphere for reading and study but is much more than this: it is an exhibition space for displaying some of the fabulous works of Art produced by our talented artists, past and present as well as the literary works of students throughout the year.
As part of the library programme, we run many poetry and writing competitions in conjunction with National and International literacy events: these encourage students to partake and expand their experience of composing and creative writing.
We have also expanded library activities to include Chess and Draughts, not forgetting our newly added Word games which are one of the students’ favourite activities while in the library. It is also a place to meet your friends at break and lunch time.
This year, we also established a ‘Poetry Corner’ in the library and have added some new poetry titles to expand our Irish Poet’s collection.
We have four computers for research and recreation and these are very popular with the students.
The current library catalogue can be accessed at: https://kcs.interleaf.ie
With over 2500 titles and rising, there is something of interest to everybody.
If you would like to donate a book to the library, please contact us for details.
Reminder: The Library is open until 5:30 each afternoon, so students can study and do their Homework there.
