This 2009/2010 school year has settled into a busy and productive routine at this stage.

I would particularly like to welcome the First Years.  I hope you like your new surrounding and that you have adapted to the life of Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine.

Recently we held our Awards Night for the Calendar Year 2008/2009.  I would like to congratulate all the award winners.  The array of awards on display that night signifies the wonderful achievements of our students in both the academic and extra-curricular areas of sport, debating, voluntary work, attendance and many more.

This is our ninth year in Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine and over those nine years our school has developed significantly.  We now have a much wider curriculum and offer Transition Year and Leaving Certificate Applied programme to senior cycle students.

This year we are also developing our own Learning Platform.  In time students will be able to see their assigned homework, teacher notes, digital media, blogs, discussion groups, surveys and lots more.  This Learning Platform is at the developmental stage and it is going to take time.  The link to this Learning Platform is www.skillspace.com/kenmarecs.  You will need a password and username which is available from the school office.  Log on and watch this develop!

I want to thank everyone involved in this school, the parents, for their ongoing support and co-operation and especially the work and commitment of the Parents Association, the teachers for their dedication and commitment to making this a fantastic school.  In particular I wish to thank our teachers for all the voluntary work that goes into making this such a wonderful school.

And finally, the students, for your energy, co-operation and enthusiasm.  You are the heartbeat of this school and it is beating loud and strong.

Mr. Dermot Healy

Principal
