A Message From The Principal

Hello everyone and Welcome to our schools website. Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine is a second level school situated in Kenmare, Co.Kerry, Ireland. In this website I hope you will find all you need to know about our wonderful school.

Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine aims to provide a high quality comprehensive education, open to all the children of the greater Kenmare area. We are committed to the care and development of each individual and to fostering a positive attitude towards life long learning. It will be a school where students, teachers and parents work together to contribute to a safe, caring and happy environment.

This 2011/2012 school year has settled into a busy and productive routine at this stage.

I would particularly like to welcome the First Years.  I hope you like your new surrounding and that you have adapted to the life of Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine.

This year we are also developing our own Learning Platform.  In time students will be able to see their assigned homework, teacher notes, digital media, blogs, discussion groups, surveys and lots more.  This Learning Platform is at the developmental stage and it is going to take time.  The link to this Learning Platform is www.skillspace.com/kenmarecs.  You will need a password and username which is available from the school office.  Log on and watch this develop!

I want to thank everyone involved in this school, the parents, for their ongoing support and co-operation and especially the work and commitment of the Parents Association, the teachers for their dedication and commitment to making this a fantastic school.  In particular I wish to thank our teachers for all the voluntary work that goes into making this such a wonderful school.

And finally, the students, for your energy, co-operation and enthusiasm.  You are the heartbeat of this school and it is beating loud and strong.

  • Wed. 25th Jan.              All Ireland Girls Basketball final in Dublin. Match at 3pm.

  • 31st Jan.            24 x LC1 LCVP students going to Muckross House with N. O’Neill – LCVP Summary Report.

  • Wed. 1st Feb.    Féile Bríd

  • Wed. 1st Feb.    Transition Year students going to cinema Bantry to see ‘War Horse’

  • Thur. 2nd Feb.              LCA Task Examiner – attending school.  Interviews will be conducted all day so there may be some disruption to classes

  • Fri. 3rd Feb.      Soft Skills Workshop for TY students in school from 12:45-3:15 p.m.

  • Cross-Country in Cork- Friday 27th January- some pupils will take part in the Kenmare AC 1 Mile run for U18s Saturday February 11th  and will be fund-raising for Crumlin Children’s Hospital

  • Sat. 11th Feb.  A 10 Km Run will take place to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Dublin
